Review of The Filling Station, Comstock Park, MI

This is where the Magic happens!

The menu boards are two inverted bigscreen TVs, and the menu is rather extensive.  From Americana to Greek Coney-Style to Mexican, this place has something to please everybody.  They have a Mr. Fables knock-off Mr. Fab that comes pretty darned close to the original (I think the meat patties are thicker, but the flavor is spot-on and righteous!) and they hand-dip their onion rings EXACTLY like the old Mr. Fables – it’s worth the trip just for these incredible rings!  The full order is HUGE, and the half order just might be the best value on the menu – only $1.99 for a half order, and it’s a pretty big order at that.
These folks know how to cook on a flat top grill – the burgers are outstanding (they use fresh meat and form the patties to order – nothing pre-made here) and the philly cheese steak and “slim” sandwiches are some of the best I’ve had in the area.  They serve breakfast all day, and portions are generous across the menu.
Added bonus – you can get everything they offer through the drive-through, too!
It’s not gourmet, just good old-fashioned comfort foods done right.  Keeps us coming back again and again.  The lines are gonna get longer at this place, I guarantee!
Stop in and check this place out – I’ve yet to have a meal here that I wouldn’t brag about!
