Mrs. Snausy decided to try out a place about which our friend, Mr. Seitters, had said kind words. It was known to us as Scott’s Harbor Inn, but alas, it had changed names and now has new owners. I guess it’s our good fortune that we visited when we did, as our lunch experience was so awesome that we vowed to go back as soon as we get the chance.
Located on the West Bay just north of Traverse City, this little hideaway gets a huge award for attention to detail and well-played execution. The minute we walked in we felt well taken care of, and the rest of the time was spent relaxing in the moment…no hurries, no worries. Chet, our server, made sure we had what we needed, adding comedic banter and making us feel right at home.
The dining area is open, nautical without being pretentious, and inviting in it’s simplicity. I was struck with a comfortable sense of openness and peacefulness – and the food tasted even better !!! There is also an outdoor seating area available which looked very nice, too.
Mrs. Snausy ordered the Bratwurst Sandwich – it came with what looked like a couple of different varieties of bratwurst. She liked it…I liked it even more!
I ordered the Fish and Chips with Citrus Remoulade…absolutely stunning and delicious. The citrus remoulade made the dish outstanding, as did the Founder’s Ale beer batter that encrusted the perfectly cooked cod filets. I could have easily eaten several more pieces of that amazing fish, but opted to bring some along for a snack for later. Portion sizes were perfect…we felt we got good value for the price!
I’m so glad we finally decided to stop at the restaurant by the marina on our way up north – we’ll be dropping in again very soon, and you should, too!
